I’m not referring to the zombies in Resident Evil. I’m talking about the sea of humanity I braved earlier this morning in order to bring our beloved readers a nifty giveaway.
Resident Evil 5 is one of the highest rated video games of the year, and we have a copy for your Playstation 3 console to give away. The game looks gorgeous, and with horrifying visuals that make you feel like you’re in the middle of a voodoo influenced zombie massacre.
Even if you don’t have a PS3 (I’m one of the unfortunate ones that don’t, something I hope to rectify soon), think of this as a great gift for your game-loving signifigant other, Secret Santa or favorite cousin this gift giving season.
So how do you get your copy? Easy. It takes TWO simple steps:
FIRST-Follow our blog. If you’re not doing so already, it takes two seconds to click the Follow button on the right hand side.
Second-Leave a comment in this post telling us your all time favorite horror themed video game or gaming moment. Did you pee your pants in the original Resident Evil when the Hell Hounds crashed through the windows? Did you whip the controller at your screen at the impossible degree of difficulty of the NES Friday the 13th game? We wanna know.
Samwise Wigglebottom: Notorious Tub Pooper
What happens is this: If fifteen people leave a comment, I’ll ask the lovely Miss Clare to pick a number between one and fifteen. She’ll respond by asking me if I’ve emptied the cats’ litter boxes. This is a fair question, because if Samwise Wigglebottom’s box isn’t impeccably clean, he poops in the tub. After I clean the boxes, she’ll pick a number and whoever’s post corresponds with that number wins the game. Anyone who has won a past contest is totally eligible to win again.
Get your entry in by Midnight December 5th if you want a chance to win!

I'm torn between two things. One is the doctor that appears in "The Suffering". He reminds me so much of the Jeffrey Combs character from "House on Haunted Hill". The doctor in the game always pops up right before the big bosses show up. Eek!
The other is that creepy dog barking in almost all the Resident Evil games. I know it sounds pretty lame, but that lonely barking in the dead of night just gets to me.
my twin sister and i ALWAYS play survival horror games together. the first time we played Res Evil, when you come around the corner and see that Zomblie eating on that dead guy... OH MAN!! I threw the controler down and started pacing around the living room ranting: "I am NOT playing this game! I wont be able to sleep now! I CAN'T play this!" It impacted me so hard that when we play any kind of horror game, she has to run the controls... i use the excuse that i am "navigating"... hehehe.. we all know what is really going on.
recently, she got me to play a bit of that Ju-on, everyone laughed and laughed as i sat in the dark, whimpering every time that kid's face came outta nowhere! gawd i LOVE being scared!!!
oh btw, our cat poos in the floor when she is sick of a dirty box... i feel for you!!
My favorite horror themed video game is the first Silent Hill. That creepy town will forever be stuck in my mind. This is hands down one of the creepier survival horror games. It has lots of levels, lots of detail and lots of story. The puzzles are interesting and fun, but never too hard. Silent Hill 2 is graphically better, but I will always remember this game as one of the scariest.
I would have to go with the original Silent Hill also. The feeling of dread and the general look of the town was unlike anything I had seen in a videogame before. My favorite moment was walking into a bathroom in the school to come out of it on a different floor. Simple and effective mindf***.
Although my favorite horror video game is probably Resident Evil 4, my favorite memory is playing Manhunt. The game came out when I was 14 and my friend got it. His house had an addition that no one was living in, so it was like his own little apartment. I recall playing that game in the dark for hours and then being scared to death to walk back home. Good game.
I follow and The Original Resident Evil is my fav.

My fav is Left 4 dead. Just because it's fun pretending a bunch of diseased individuals are trying to eat your brain matter. And the more friends you can get to play along the better.

My favorite would be the old school Alone In the Dark for PC. The game that started it all.
My favorite would probably be F.E.A.R. for the xbox 360. The creepy girl in it always made me spooked.
My favorite is resident evil 4
My favorite is Resident Evil, pretty much any of them. If I had to choose one, it would be Resident Evil 4. I jump no matter how many times I play!
My favorite Horror video game is Dead Space, for sure! The creatures on it scare me to death! the game is pure genius! Imagine yourself... in space, alone fighting creatures that just won't die with a single shot of a Plasma Cutter! Very great game indeed.
They've all been mentioned before, but I loved the original Resident Evil series on PS2 (haven't played the new ones yet). FEAR was also a great game, especially since FPS is generally my genre of choice. Alone in the Dark was a masterpiece in the 486 days... I honestly can't really think of many others. Horror is an underappreciated theme in general unfortunately. Oh well, pick my number your wiggly kitty you!
my favorite was resident evil 4! Hope i win!
My favorite was resident evil 4 as well. That game was awesome and I look forward to winning this one. :D
Mine has to be when I first got Resident Evil 2 for Playstation (yes that long ago) I was playing it pretty late at night in my bedroom alone and I remember walking down that west hall in the police station. Walking past those windows for the first time and having those zombie hands reach out and grab me. Scared the life out of me I swear I woke everyone in the house up. Resident Evil 2 is still my fave resident evil game to date.....
Left 4 Dead has plenty of great moments. It's probably my favorite horror game. Silent Hill in the school, Fatal Frame, the Resident Evil series (especially 2 and 3) were all great.
I'm definitely going to say that playing Resident Evil on the Playstation was the scariest game. I think I was about 8 or 9. We would play with the lights off and everything. The stairs always got me, with the slow descent down and the uncertainty of what's at the bottom. Great series!
resident evil has always been a favorite horror themed video game!
Without a doubt Resident Evil PC(or PS1, I owned/played both versions). I love that game so much I played through the worst one week Flu virus I'd ever had to finish it.
I particularly love the cut scene right after you first make it into the Mansion where you find a team member being eaten by a zombie, First you see the zombie taking a big crunchy bite out of the guys neck and his head falls off on to the floor with a giant puddle of blood spilling out, the zombie senses your presence and does an epic slow turn towards you with a look of soullessness & that classic Resident Evil zombie voice over...."Uh, UH, UH, UH.....!!!!!!!"
Now run away back into the dining hall and let Barry shoot that suckers head off!
